Houses, Apartments, and Cafes
We have chosen
to meet in places that make people feel comfortable and able to relax. We find that we can get to know people better
in a smaller setting, allowing for us to become a community of people who care
for each other. We also believe that
this is a better use of our resources.
Rather than spending hundreds of thousands of dollars on buildings and
land, we would rather use what we have to impact this world and make it a
better place to live and help those who are in need.
What happens at a typical gathering?
A typical
gathering time consists of some time to talk, a time to worship, a time of
conversation about spiritual matters, and a time to pray for one another and
help each other through this journey of life.
We want our gathering times to be a place where you can know that God is
in our midst. He desires to be present
with us and we want to experience His presence in our gathering times.
So how many people come to these
gatherings?
Typically we
will have anywhere from 5 to 15 people at a gathering spot. When a group gets to be consistently over 12
people, we begin to make plans for a new gathering to develop out of that
group. Keeping the group size between 5
and 12 allows for the greatest opportunity for people to share and be cared
for. We do gather our groups together on
the first Sunday of the month for a meal and joint gathering time as a larger
group. This keeps us all connected to
each other as we multiply our groups. |
